Meet Lisa
Lisa is an elementary school music teacher in SW Detroit where she is known for helping animals anytime the need arises. Previously, while working toward her M.Ed. in Humane Education, she became the Curator of Humane Education at the Detroit Zoo where she worked for 12 years. She was on the board of directors for the Association of Professional Humane Educators and also the Humane Education Coalition where she connected with folks from around the country and abroad who work in the field of animal welfare. Lisa has been fostering with Underdog Rescue Ranch since March of 2024 after her beloved senior soul pup passed away. Adopting and advocating for senior dogs has been a passion of hers for almost 20 years. Lisa currently lives with her rescued cat, Frankie, and her Underdog foster and she enjoys teaching yoga and playing her flute with the Ferndale Community Concert Band. She’s thrilled to be part of the Underdog team to support the incredible work they do!
